Has anyone ever taken Nerve Calm?

Passion Flower Extract
Brian asked:

Just wondering if anyone has taken the Nerve Calm formula (or something similar). It is manufactured by Bio-Essence Intl. and on the health pavillion website where it is sold, it is described as:

Nerve Calm is an herbal based product. It is totally safe and natural. The formula helps to eliminate anxiety, panic attacks, sleep disorders, back pain, joint discomfort and restless leg syndrome*.

Ingredients
Black Cohosh Root*, Valerian Root*, Blue Cohosh Root*, Wild Yam Flower*, Hops Flower*, Passion Flower*, Skullcap Herb*, Kava Kava Root**, Lobelia Herb and Seed*, Chamomile Flower**, Wood Betony Herb**.
Propietary Blend of Ayurvedic Herbs extracted in 41% U.S.P. grade grain alcohol.
1:1.7 Full Spectrum Whole Herb Extract Ratio
*= Organic
**= Wildcrafted

That first * is because none of this has been tested or approved by the FDA.

Just wondering if anyone has taken it, the taste, the effectiveness, side effects, etc.

What happens if you take over the recommended dosage of herbs such as Valerian root or Kava Kava extract?

Valerian Root Extract
deepthinker asked:

Is it possible to take too many vitamins? I don’t mean a whole handful just more than the recommended dosage. Do ALL herbs have a recommended dosage, if so, is it always listed on the bottle? Is there an herb out there that promotes energy (not stimulants, only natural)? Please advise as I wear down in the afternoons and I don’t want to take any “pep pills”.
I know Valerian and Kava are not “pick me ups”. It was just a general question. Thanks though because this is all new to me.

Has anyone else used Alpha Lipoic Acid to help them with their insomnia?

alpha-lipoic acid
missinformed_99 asked:

I found out that alpha lipoic acid is a good antioxidant and can even be better than vitamin C in fighting the flu bug. However, I noticed a side effect, but a good side effect! It has helped me with my insomnia and works a bit better than any of the prescribed meds I have tried including Lunesta, Remeron, Elavil, and even Rozerem. Just wondering if anyone else has found this out as well.

I guess the ALA stuff works on different hormones in me that needed adjusting instead of working on serotonin and GABA and melatonin which kept me awake instead. I also know ALA can help relieve nerve pain in ppl with diabetes up to 800mg.
